Pride and falling etc.
After blowing my own trumpet about how well Piwko’s Proof was selling at Sony Reader store, fate has tripped me up and the book has fallen out of the top 100. Down fifty places in three days. Well, it was nice while it lasted. On the plus side, some of my other titles are holding up very well. An Evil Shadow is still in the top 1%, with Paper Ghosts, Churchill’s Queen and Decoys all moving strongly in the right direction.
On the home front, I’ve just bought a pair of shoes from a mail-order site – the first pair I saw. To flaunt my sexist credentials, how many women could do that?
My daughter, out of school for the summer, has dyed her hair a bright pink. With typical Irish skin tone – luminescent white – she now resembles a Swan Vesta match. For those who don’t know what said match looks like, it’s long , thin, with a shocking pink head prone to bursting into flames.
